Have you always had a social services interest or wanted to proactively support change in your community? then this could be the role for you. We are seeking a highly organised, relational and empathetic individual to step into this space when our current Kaiāwhina goes on maternity leave in January 2025. Building and developing on from the current work already done in this six-month opportunity.
Purpose of the Role:
This role is a partnership between Whakatū Marae and NZ Police, supporting the Whāngaia Ngā Pā Harakeke team. The Kaiawhina works with whānau experiencing family harm by using whakapapa, tikanga, and Te Ao Māori. You’ll participate in daily Safety Assessment Meetings (SAMs) with multiple agencies (Corrections, Health, Oranga Tamariki, and Police) to assess risks, share information, and prioritise support for whānau.
